Oh how special! Yet another cell phone carrier wants to offer me two combined lines with 1000 anytime minutes for 49.99*! I’m absolutely ecstatic about this! I guess that was obvious from my overuse of exclamation marks though. I’m really dying for a company to just drop the bs and give us what we want: unlimited minutes, text, photo and video (you know, romance on the road baby) without catches. But no, instead they insist on making advertisements and spending millions instead of running 2 second spots that just flash on the screen “VERIZON NOW WITH UNLIMITED MINUTES 49.99*, 9.99* PER ADDITIONAL LINE”.

Do you get it? Because I sure don’t. Do we really need to see who’s in some fucking nerdly junior high students five? Was it truly necessary to get in that last “do you hear me now”? Do you really care that one company has rollover minutes and the others don’t? Of course not! Generally we choose our cell phones based on what our friends and family have. Advertising doesn’t come into play whatsoever. So please, someone listen to me. T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon all need to put their collective orbital buffers down and listen to the little kid. Not just because he is really a metaphor for your customer base, but because what he’s really screaming is “stop advertising and drop your ridiculously overpriced plans in favor of unlimited calling”. Really. Just do it. I guarantee it gets your more customers than anything else you have tried before.

* all prices of course have random government taxes added on top of them.
