JCPenney’s Magical “Music Box” Makes Me Love Stafford Even More

I’m really not quite sure what to say about this one other than wow. So, instead of even talking about this commercial I will instead engage you in a lengthy discussion about Stafford shirts. They are fantastic. You get a shirt that looks almost as good as those more expensive designer shirts and it’s even machine washable. What a deal. Did I mention they are cheap and come in more colors than you even know exist?

Ok, but seriously, this is a good one. The formula of a catchy female singer along with visually pleasing animation or effects seems to be a winner in the modern advertising industry. I do think they could have landed a little bit of product placement in here. Maybe some ghostly writing “magically appearing” to let us know what designer the magicians are wearing. Now I was a bit confused about the lyrics of the song. I did originally think it said “life inside a music box in DC”. Which really doesn’t make sense. Then again I have horrible hearing at lots of things just kind of blur together.

I realize that I haven’t spoken to you about the magicians yet. Let’s just say I wanted to save the best for last. None of these “tricks” are digitally enhanced in any way. Everything you see is executed in a flawless David Blaine-esque manner and everything was captured live. I know some of it seems illogical like a person splitting in half in a file cabinet or going into a phone booth and liquidating, but the fact of the matter is that it is done entirely with live acting. I now love JCPenney’s for more than just Stafford shirts, I love them for their magicians as well.
