Apple iPhone Gives Us “One Thing”

And the meathead speaketh. I really hate to say it, but I find myself begging for Mac v PC.

Apple has completely confused me here. Is this some sort of attempt at mass appeal? I thought that Mac users and Mac people were supposed to be more sophisticated and technologically advanced. The simple to use motif comes across loud and clear though. To me that means you can’t be trying to appeal to your target audience with someone who has never heard of a camera phone or say a Motorola KRZR. It’s not exactly uncommon knowledge that combining at least a few of the items this guy used to keep in his purse was pretty simple. It raises a lot of questions in my mind. Whatever demographic it is that they are trying to relate to here shouldn’t be attracted, they should be offended. In fact, this guy should be offended that they would let him do a commercial like this. It’s not his fault he’s a meathead.

But what did he keep in his purse? Or bag, whatever he’d like to call it.

Meathead: So basically at this one point I had to carry around a little bag with me

Alright I get it man, a little bag. I still say it’s a coach purse. We’ll agree to disagree. So what did you keep in this “little bag”.

Meathead: I had the iPod
Me: No, no we already know that
Meathead: I had a camera
Me: Ok really we heard this, did you keep anything practical in there?
Meathead: I had a regular phone
Me: You just keep going on this, didn’t they teach you other words?
Meathead: And I had a phone that I used for text messaging and emails and stuff like that
Me: Please. Get away from your script. Tell me something new.
Meathead: Four things
Me: Alright! Now we are talking.
Meathead: One thing
Me: Ok go on..
Meathead:

At that point I concluded the interview. I couldn’t take it anymore. How much longer Nokia?
